MOTHER OF BRIGHTNESS

William Shakespeare once quoted

“There is no darkness but ignorance,”

For me, I am unable do visualize total darkness,

For I have never fallen into the deep pits of darkness,

For Mak was always there to deny me darkness,

She was always there to protect me from darkness,

She was there with the beacon of brightness.

Although she was illiterate yet she could recite the Quran well.

Although she could not read the Romanized alphabets,

Yet she could ride a train to Kuala Lumpur unabated,

With her ignorance, she could even go anywhere on earth,

If ever her children needed her wisdom and guidance,

To navigate through life and preparing for the ultimate death.

With her ignorance, definitely there should be darkness for us,

Instead her ignorance provided us with brightness,

Domineering our lives with her thoughtfulness,

Pacifying and uniting us with her calmness,

Protecting us with her firmness and careness,,

Feeding us with her forever culinary finesse,

She was always the sparkling beacon that has provided us the brightness,

That enabled us to appreciate life to the fullest.

Although she has left us for nearly a decade,

Yet we still feel that she has not gone beyond our gates,

Holistically she was always there to deny us the darkness,

Alfatihah to Mak on today’s Mother’s Day of brightness,
