SIBLINGS 19 ; MOTHERS DAY

This years Mother Day i.e. on 11 May 2009 has a very significant impact on Nami's family. All the Haji Wahid descendants and most of Salleh Khir descendants converged in Bercham, Ipoh to celebrate the wedding of Ajei, the great-great grand son of Haji Wahid on Saturday 10 May 2009. It was a jubilant feast at Jamil's house in Bercham and everybody was happy together especially the youngstersand toddlers. Little did they realised that some uninvited guests were also very happy to see the host family happiness which has made them oblivious to the presence of the criminally intent unnvited guests to the house.

The uninvited guests surely has dressed neatly for the feast without the hosts realising it or maybe the hosts even ushered the potential thieves to the feast table. They would have enjoyed the good foods while planning their sleek moves. Their sleek sinister operation was only realised when Nami and her family made their next move to put a night at Abang's Meru apartment. Nami lost her wallet with all its contents. Alin also shared the same fate when his wallet was also in Nami's bag. Zah who was also the host became a perfect host when she contributed a lap top apart from providing good foods to the culprits.

Bimo who seemed very attached to Azira and guarding her meticalously also failed in his duty to protect Azira's wallet. In fact Azira was very happy with her hand bag in Meru without realising its wallet has gone astray. Noraini who was also very sympathetic to the calamity shared her misery with Nami by contributing her share to MAS Firefly. The moral of the story is that we must always very vigilant as the traps would never forget the mouse deer. Only the mouse deer somtimes forgets about the impending trap.

I think the inherent habit as an auditor must have saved Yani from the embarrassment of contributing additional haul to the total heist. I also wonder about the inherent habit as enforcement officers of 75% of Zah's family i.e. two custom officers and one maritime personel. However I believe the success of the wedding feast has outweighed the misfortune.
Nami's Mother's Day was a very costly affair for her and surely it has a negative impact on her family. However looking at the solid support of her family with the ever smiling youngest grand child, Nami must have enjoyed her Mothers Day at Meru. All of us in the family symphatise with Nami and we do sincerely pray to Allah that Nami and her family would emerge stronger than before. Surely with her deminure, she must have strong faith in the blessing of Allah to cushion off her misfortune. Insya Allah. Happy mothers' day to all.

Enjoying the foods without realising the impending catastrophe

The ever smiling Alun's most junior, Mohammad Izzat.

Seemed very contented with life

Happy together in the group photograph session while the culprits were laughing their hearts out with their bountiful catches.

Their happiness at the scene of the crime helped to facilitate the smooth sleek operation of the uninvited guests.

SIBLINGS 18; IPOH MALI

On Friday, 8th May 2009, we departed for Ipoh at 5.00 p.m. It was my first trip to Ipoh since Adik An's marriage. Because of my back pain and osteoarthritis, I could not drive on my own beyond Sungai Petani. Otherwise my leg would feel numb and I have got to stretch my legs after one hour's driving. As Jamil and Zah never failed to attend my invitation, I felt it was very unkind on my part not to attend his first wedding feast.

After three stops for rest, we finally arrived at Ipoh at 8.40 pm. and went straight to Restoran Nasi Lemak Ayam Kampung where Kak Fuzna and Nari were already there waiting for us. It was a very nice dinner where the deep fried ayam kampung was very deliciuos indeed. True to his record , Ezwar consumed two plates of Nasi lemak which has compensated for his long driving hours.

Flurry of activities at the front of the restaurant

The speciality of the restaurant was that the cooking area was at the front of the restaurant which made our appetite more wanton.

Live eels waiting for a place at the frying pants

After the dinner, we went straight to Meru as my body was acthing for the bed. As there was no solid food for the night, we ended up eating koci for our late supper. We woke up into a beautiful Meru Valley early morning. As breakfast at Jan's would only commence after 9.30 am, we started our breakfast with Mek Tet's favourite that was guava and kuah rojak. I was astonished with the the resilient of our dear stomachs. Nami's family went ahead of us to Jan's house as they have to fulfill their scheduled chores at Zah's wedding reception.

The rest of us followed later to Jan's house. It was a very lavish breakfast for us from Kedah. There were nasi lemak udang with fried chicken, traditional cakes and chee cheong fun. It was our first taste of chee cheong fun and it was quite tasty healthy food for our breakfast. With a very kow local brewed coffee, it was a very enjoyable breakfast for us indeed. The ever entertaining reception of the two brothers and their spouses, it was indeed a very memorable breakfast for us from Kedah and Shah Alam. We from Kedah were in fact very jealous of Nami's family as they would be able to enjoy another great break fast at Shah's house the next morning.

The main obstacle for me to the Meru's apartment

The beautiful early morning scenery at Meru Valley which provides tranquility to the faint hearts

A very well kept manicured lawn at Jan's house compound

A very relaxed atmosphere for our break fast under the watchful hawking eyes of Pak Tam Nari

The jovial solid hosts of the accomodating brothers

Alin's wallet suffered similar fate as the MB of Perak whereby within hours Alin's wallet on the table changed hands

We returned back to the Meru Apartment at 10.00 am as Shiwar, Marini, Ezman and Amalina were ready for a dip at the pool before going to Zah's wedding reception. In fact, Ezman has bought a new bathing attire for the occasion. As usual, Shah came later to the pool to poke funs at the kampung swimmers.
Later on, Shah came up to the apartment to share with her aunties in enjoying the morning desserts of guava with the kuah rojak. Our jovial interchanges with Shah were brought to a halt when Shah got a call from his Papa. His Papa has enquired from Shah whether I would like to go for a treatment for my frozen shoulder ailment at Klinik Law at 1200 pm. Shah told me it was up to me whether to go or not to go. Knowing his style of doing business as the descendant of Salleh Khir, without a wink I decided to opt for the treatment.
Although Shah's antics seemingly looked childish but he was actually a serious caring person. He brought me right to the door step of Klinik Law, Osteopathist Bone Setter at No. 3 Jalan Lim Bo Seng, Ipoh. He even stopped his vehicle next to the road kerb so as to lessen my burden of alighting from his high four wheel drive. It was indeed very kind gesture on his part to an OKU uncle.
The clinic hour was coming to a close for the day but because of Abang's prior appointment, I was shoved straight to the treatment room ahead of other waiting patients. The doctor looked quite elderly but at the first glance I knew he could do wonders for my frozen shoulders. Although he looked ancient and old fashion but his prescriptions were all totally done on the computer. True to my forecast, after a week of taking his prescriptions, my frozen left shoulder has improved tremendously. Thanks to the auspice of Abang and now officially I have joined Mek Tet as a medical treatment alumni.

To us from the north, it was indeed a very memorable Ipoh Mali visit which was made possible by the cordiality of Abang and his entire family. Thank you to the other well knitted Salleh Khir family members who has provided added spices and flavour to the occasion and Alhamdullillah.

The partially closed clinic was already calling for the day

SIBLING 16 : HUMOUR

1. FOR MOTHERS WHO HAS MORE THREE KIDS

Two mothers were comparing child rearing notes

Mother 1 : "I just can't seem to get my children's attention. They stay mesmerised in front of the TV set. I say things to them and call for them, and they are oblivious to every word."

Mother 2 : "Try sitting in an easy chair and looking like you're relaxed. That gets my children's attention without fail."

2. BALD HEADED

A certain time of life, a man's hair begins to grow inward. If it strikes gray matter, it turns gray. If it doesn't strike anything, it disappears.

3. FOR A BALD FATHER

A little boy took the chair at a barber shop.

Barber: "How would you like your hair cut today, son."

Boy: "Oh, do it like you do to daddy's, with the big hole in the middle."

4. FOR BIMO AND AZIRA - Be calm and do not be jittery when the D day comes.

Scene One

A young man brought his wife to the O&G Doctor in an emergency. The nurses escorted the woman to the examination area, and the husband anxiously took a seat at the lobby.

For the next few minutes, he could hear the doctor bark an unsettling string of orders.to the staff. First it was "Knife!". Then "Screwdrivers!" Then "Pliers!".

When he heard "Sledgehammer!" the young man could bear the tension no longer. He burst into the examination room and shrieked,"Doctor, what is wrong with my wife?"

"We have no idea," the doctor said. "Right now, we are still trying to open the medicine cabinet."

Scene 2

A doctor's receptionist answered the phone and was screamed at by the exited man at the other end of the line.

"My wife is in labour!" he yelled. "I think she is going to deliver any minute now."

"Please calm down," the receptionist said. "Try to relax and give me some basic information. Is this her first child?"

"No, No! I am her husband!".

5. FOR INCOMING LAWYER

A

Judge: "You're accused of stealing a typewriter. How do you plead."

Defendant:"I'm innocent, Your Honour. The whole thing was a mistake."

Judge:"How so?"

Defendant:"I thought it was the cash register."

B

Defence lawyer: "The procsecutor says she can produce five witnesses who saw you running from the bank with the money bags."

Suspect: "That's nothing. I can produce 500 witnesses who didn't see me running from the bank."

6. FOR NORAINI

A

Patient: "Doctor, I'm suffering from a pain in my right leg."

Doctor: "There is no cure. It's just aging."

Patient: "You must be mistaken, Doctor. The left is as old as the right and it doesn't hurt at all."

B

Doctor: "Your cough is a little better today."

Patient: "It ought to be. I've been practising all night."

7. FOR ALUN

To get his wealth,

He spent his health.

After getting his wealth,

He spent his wealth,

To get back his health.

SIBLINGS 15 : MASTER OF ALL

Mat was the first visitor to our wakaf from outside Kedah. Mat who is the man always on the move, does not seem to understand why there was a lot of anxiety for the small innocent wakaf. If Mat stops from moving on, then he will understand why there was anxiety on the part of Zam household.

If he is bald in front, he is a thinker. If he is bald in the back, he is clever. If he is bald in front and back, he thinks he is clever.

DUSTBIN THOUGHT 1: MALAYSIA CONCEPT

Fried Mee Abu

Mee Rebus Abu

Kopi O kaw

1Malaysia concept that is being mooted by YAB Dato' Seri Najib was in fact widely practiced efficiently by the Mee Abu Enterprise. The raw noddles and other ingredients are being supplied by the Chinese traders. The noddles were later being fried or cooked by Mee Abu Mamaks. The finished products later are consumed by all Malaysians irrespective of race whether you are a Malay, a Chinese, an Indian or even a Thai. The fried mee or mee rebus would be accompanied by drinks prepared by the Chinese proprietor. This simple mee abu enterprise reflects a successful genuine 1 Malaysia concept.
