REMEMBRANCE 20 : THE FIRST STEP

Nana's fisrt step was joined by Abang's MCKK buddy Dato' JJ who made the point to come back from Perth on 25.05.1999 for Nana's wedding.


Abang and Kak Fuzna hosted the customary farewell ceremony (adat menyembah) at his house in Ipoh on Sunday, 30.05.1999. We were very grateful to Abang for making Nana's wedding a memorable one as Abang was a perfect host to both families. Abang's sincere gesture of hospitality managed to initiate a paradigm shift on the stereo type mind sets of my families.

Their first step together on Monday, 24.05.1999

Renowned Chinese Philisopher, Lao Tzu (604 - 531 B.C.) said that a journey of a thousands miles must begin with a single step. Today (24.05.2009) is Nana's and Jim's 10th wedding anniversary and Nana's and Jim's first steps began on 24.05,1999 when their marriage was solemnised on Monday, 24.05.1999 at my house in Pumpong. From CNN networking, we were made to understand that Nana and Jim were planning to have a nostalgic journey back to their first steps.

I was made to understand that both of them are very adamant not to share their nostalgic marriage remake with anybody else. They would be leaving their four children at home while they would go for their candle light lunch alone and off to the movie.

I think it is a very noble and lovable gesture for both of them to trace back their journey to the starting block on 24.05.1999. It would surely help to rekindle fond memories of their first steps which would definitely help in cementing a much more solid marriage bonding between them. We in Alor Setar wish Nana and Jim a happy tenth wedding anniversary with a wish that there would not be another addition to the perfect family. Insya Allah.
